The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter Sixty Two-1

Commander Lynne's return marked the end of our brief reprieve. She wasted no time reminding us of the training we had missed, and by the end of the day, we were thoroughly exhausted. Muscles didn't even know existed ached, and I felt as though my limbs

were made of lead.

After dinner, I mumbled a quick goodnight to my mates and trudged back to my room. The thought of a hot shower crossed my mind, but the effort seemed monumental. Instead, I flopped onto my bed, the soft mattress cradling my aching body. My muscles protested even the slight movement of pulling up the blanket.

I didn't even bother to shower. I was too tired to care, and the warmth of the blankets felt like heaven. Just as my eyelids began to

flutter closed, a knock at my door startled me.

Groaning, I debated pretending I hadn't heard it, but the knocking persisted.

"Go away," I groaned, burying my face in my pillow.

The knock came again, more insistent this time. With a dramatic sigh, I dragged myself up, wincing as my sore muscles reminded me of the day's brutality. Summoning every ounce of strength, I pushed myself up, my sore muscles protesting with every movement. Opening the door, I was surprised to find Elijah standing there.

"What do you want?" I muttered, leaning against the doorframe.

"Come with me," he said simply.

I stared at him, blinking in disbelief. "Elijah, I'm dead tired. Whatever it is can wait until tomorrow."

A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "I promise it'll be worth it. And it'll help you relax."

I crossed my arms, narrowing my eyes at him. "If I regret this, I'm punching you in the face."

He chuckled a deep, rich sound that made something in my chest flutter. "Fair enough. But if you get tired, I'll carry you the rest of the way."

Rolling my eyes, I stepped into the hallway, pulling the door shut behind me. "You'd better not be lying about this being worth it, carrot-head," I teased, trying to mask my curiosity.

He laughed again, a genuine warmth in his gaze as he reached for my hand. His fingers were calloused but gentle, a stark contrast that made my heart skip a beat. Together, we descended the staircase, our footsteps echoing softly in the quiet castle.

We headed toward a hidden doorway I hadn't noticed before. Elijah pushed it open, revealing a path that led outside the castle walls. The cool night air brushed against my skin, and I hesitated as we stepped into the dense woods.

"Where are we going?" I asked, glancing at the dense woods ahead.

"You'll see," he said, his tone cryptic but reassuring.

The darkness of the forest was thick, the trees looming like silent sentinels. My steps faltered, memories of the shadow weaver flashing in my mind. The thought of its cold, oppressive presence sent a shiver down my spine.

"Are you scared?" he asked, glancing back at me with a teasing smile
