Chapter 77

Chapter Sevety Seven-1

After the battle and my near-death experience, my mates insisted that I rest. Eira had given the the day off from training, which should have felt like a gift, but instead, I felt... off. Restless. Uneasy,

I knew why. The fight in Armenia had shaken me more than I cared admit. I had thought I was strong, that our training had prepared us, but the Children of the Eclipse had proven me wrong. They had been faster, stronger, and more merciless than 1 expected. If not for my mates, I wouldn't be here.

The weight of that truth sat heavy on my chest.

Sensing my mood, Austin, always the mischief-maker, clapped his hands

together. "Alright, no more brooding. We're taking a break."

I raised an eyebrow. "A break from what? I've literally been doing nothing all day."

"A break from moping," Isaiah teased.

"We're going for a swim," Elijah said simply, stretching his arms. "To the hot spring."

My ears perked up at that. "The Hot spring?" my cheeks flushed after I

remembered what happened there between Elijah and me.

Alex smirked. "You'll love it. Besides it's Perfect for relaxing."

Austin stretched his arms behind his head. "You need a distraction, and what better way than a run through the woods to get

there?"

Elijah met my gaze, his expression softer. "It'll help clear your head.

I let out a slow breath, knowing they were right.

"Fine," I muttered, standing.

I barely had time to register his words before they all shifted into their wolves. One by one, they stood before me, their powerful forms blending into the surrounding trees. Their eyes gleamed, waiting for me to follow suit.

I let out a breath, pushing aside my lingering doubts, and shifted. My silver wolf emerged, larger than all of theirs, glowing like moonlight trapped in fur.

"Catch you later, losers,” I taunted, before dashing into the woods."Try to keep up," I teased.

As I ran, the wind rushing through my fur, something strange happened.

The world around me flickered, like a candle caught in the wind. One moment, I was sprinting through the dense forest, my paws kicking up leaves. The next, I was somewhere else.

A vision. But this time, I wasn't dreaming.

The boy, older now, moving through the same woods. His hair was longer, tied back, and his face was more defined-sharp angles, piercing eyes filled with purpose. He was no longer a child running for his life.

And he wasn't alone.

Then, a soft whisper filled the air, carrying with it the familiar cadence of the riddle from my dream:

Whispers from the ancient Willow's boughs,"
