The Pack: Rule Number 1 – No Mates
Chapter Three Hundred Ten
DOMONIC
The clouds are thick with rain by the time Grant leaves us on the pebbled shore. The tiny islet Logan selected for this stand-off can’t be more than a mile or so in each direction. As Grant rides away, I turn to Quinn with a nod toward the trees, signaling for him to scout the landscape while I drag our little princess away from the shore.

Quinn undresses without saying a word then shifts, racing forward into the trees. Watching tum until the last wisp of fur is out of sight, I tune my ears into the sounds around me. The crash of waves on the rocks to my right are there is a cave somewhere on that side that must lead into the islet. I know it doesn’t go al would be able to hear it. More than likely, it’s probably flooded and only accessible by boat on

Glancing down at Roman, I note he’s sleeping peacefully, all wrapped in chains and pumped full of drugs. That fact is mildly irritating, as I’d much rather watch him suffer a nightmare or two. I keep having to remind myself that, although I don’t believe he started the fire, he definitely watched it burn, so he deserves all this shit that’s coming his way. Just imagining it…him…standing somewhere nearby and watching while my mother…our mothers…burned…”it boils my insides almost more than it did when I thought he started it.
According to Cane, he’s been watching our pack for years. Hunting his own kind! He killed Gayle’s and Gryffin’s mom.
Yeah, he deserves to suffer.
So what if I accidentally kick him a couple of times in the head before lifting him up and hoisting him over my shoulder. He’s heavy!
Walking higher onto the beach, I dump him near a thick of evergreen trees and then retrieve our supply box from the shore. The rain has started to pelter down, so I work as quickly as possible, setting up the tent and stashing our rifles out of sight The weapons are to pick off as many as we can before they make it to the islet. We already know what kind of guys are heading our way, and they will probably have the latest equipment available, but we also know whatever they have, they will have to carry it with them. So it will be close to impossible for them to bring much this way that doesn’t get them noticed.

Should they arrive by helicopter, they are going down in the middle of the ocean and absolutely no one will give a f***k.
“Dom!” Quinn shouts as he crashes through the trees. His eyes are wildly scanning the landscape, as if he expects someone or something
to be hiding nearby.
“What is it?” I ask, shooting up to my feet from where I’d been squatting on the ground. “What did you find?”
Quinn steps into the tent, studying Roman for a quick moment before granting me his full attention. “We’re not alone out here.”
“What?” I snap. “What do you mean? Logan studied the satellite footage of this place from over a month back!”
Quinn simply shakes his head. “You’ve got to come and see for yourself. Then he steps back out of the tent and shifts into his wolf, racing away before I even have a chance to shake off my boots.

“D***n it!” I growl, as I rip off my shirt. Once I’m completely undressed, I gaze down at Roman and say, “You’ll behave for daddy while he’s
gone, won’t you?”
Then I leap out of the tent and shift in midair, my paws thundering after my brother and into the trees.
TIMMONS
Watching Doc Rhodes **k Kendall up to the equipment he keeps in his home office, I begin to grow impatient. “Is all that necessary, Doc? Shouldn’t you be waking her up first? I mean, what if she has a concussion or something? Shouldn’t she be kept alert or…”
Doc Rhodes smiles, eyeing me skeptically. “There’s no swelling anywhere along her skull. No signs that she hit her head during the fall.
