“Pepper Kimmich, you are insane! Let go of my father! ” Noah yelled with reddened eyes.
However, realizing that Pepper was umnoved, he hurriedly called out to John, “John, hurry and
have your woman let go of Dad! What is she trying to do?”
Everyone started screaming in panic as well.
John took in a deep breath. “Pepper, let go of my dad. Let’s talk through this.”
Deigning to even look at him, Pepper’s eyes were fixated on Alex as she said, “You really have
surprised me. Looks like your father, William Rockefeller, really did solve that secret and handed
it to you.
He managed to deceive everyone.”
Alex was taken aback “What secret?”
Pepper smiled. “Don’t act like you don’t know. How else would an average heir like you gain
such power all of a sudden?
Are you trying to say that you’re possessed? You’ve been slaving
away for the Assexes for the past ten months, enduring their beatings and insults like a sore
loser. In fact, you were just hiding your abilities, stalling time to secretly strengthen yourself,
right? Looks like I have underestimated you.
Your acting skills are much stronger than mine.”
Alex was more confused than ever.

However, he maintained a calm expression and said, “Secretary Kimmich, does that mean you
approached my father just for this secret? Your hiding skills are something else though.”
“Touché.”
“So, you were the one who had someone cause a car crash to kill my father, right?” Alex said
calmly, yet his eyes were filled with murderous intent.
It seemed that the truth would soon be revealed. Unexpectedly, Pepper shook her head. “You
were wrong, I didn’t kill your father.”
“Who did it then? Was it him?” Alex pointed toward John.
“Hahahaha, John Rockefeller?
He’s just an arrogant fool, how could he possibly go against your
father?” Pepper’s words immediately angered John.
However, in his eyes right now, Pepper Kimmich was a complete stranger, as if the woman
whom he had slept with and called him hubby earlier was just his hallucination.
0n the other
hand, her eyes were filled with contempt, disdain and mockery as she glared at him, as if she
were looking at a piece of rotten meat that was filled with maggots.
“Then who did it? Is it Frank Accardo?” Alex asked.
“Huh, you know about Frank Accardo too.
Looks like you’ve dug up quite some information. But
I’ll tell you what, Frank Accardo doesn’t have what it takes to kill your father either. Do you really
think your father died from a car crash? You underestimate him way too much! Do you want to
know the truth?
Then you have to let me go! I’ll tell you as soon as my safety is guaranteed.”
Anna spoke up, “You can’t escape.”
Pepper continued staring at Alex. “Then I’ll kill this old man. After all, he’s technically still your
grandfather!”
Alex frowned. With Pepper’s grip on his neck, Bill looked suffocating as if he could die any
moment now. Alex couldn’t bring himself to just stand back and watch. So, he said, “Fine, you
may leave!”
Anna shouted, “Alex Rockefeller!”
Alex replied, “Let her go.”
