So, Alex could only find a way to walk over. There wasn’t anything wrong with it anyway.
While walking, he suddenly heard a woman scream.
He turned and saw a woman crouching across the road, her head bent down with her long hair covering her face. She was wearing a plaid dress with slender and curvy legs tucked under her skirt. Based on her proportions, she didn’t seem that short.
It appeared that her high heel was stuck in the gap of a manhole cover.
Alex was in a good mood to do good deeds, so he walked over and asked, “Do you need help?”
The woman didn’t raise her head, occupied with covering her ankle with her hand. She sounded like she was crying as she said, “My heel is stuck, could you help me get them out?”
“Sure. Your leg seems to be twisted, so you should take off your shoe first.”
“Yeah, it hurts.”
The woman glanced at Alex, but Alex had already knelt down and lowered his head, so she couldn’t see his face properly.

Alex helped her unbuckle the straps of the heels before she pulled her feet out with one hand on Alex’s back as support.
Alex held the shoe, then exerted a little force to pull it out.
Crack!
The shoe came free, but the heel was still stuck in the manhole cover. The heel of the shoe had broken off.
“Oh my gosh, is this shoe made of paper? The quality is so bad!”
Alex was dumbfounded.
The woman was also dumbfounded. How was she going to wear this?
The two looked at each other, and were shocked in the next second.
“It’s you?!”
“You?!”
They both said at the same time.
The woman turned out to be the female doctor that had tried to save Susan before, and also the one who later had her fill of cursing and scolding Alex. The female doctor’s expression turned stiff and she snorted coldly.
“So, it’s you. What are you doing here? Were you stalking me?”
“What? Stalking you?” Alex was annoyed to the point his nose was going to be crooked. “Is there something wrong with you? What’s so good about you that I would stalk you? ”
“Oh, I know who you are. You’re the resident doctor who just started today, aren’t you? On the first day you joined, you just wanted to show off your abilities. I know people like you the best someone who bites off more than they can chew. Before you even learn how to walk, you want to run. Hmph, the hospital is not a school, and the patient is not some simulation doll. If you make a mistake, it’s life or death. Luck won’t always be there.” The female doctor spoke arrogantly and proudly, as though she was talking to a junior. “Don’t even think of finding any opportunities to get closer to me in the future. I’m not interested in an intern like you. I won’t even give you a good rating because of a small favor like this.”
Alex was completely speechless.
