When Alex had first obtained the Ultimate Book of Medicine, he had carefully inspected his mother’s body. She was now very healthy. How did she show that she had an illness?
However, when he pressed for more details, Grant Xenos shook his head and replied, “I don’t know the specifics. It’s all just hearsay, and it sounded dire. As for why your mother doesn’t show any signs of illness, I don’t know either.”
Alex frowned deeply. However, even after thinking for a while, he still couldn’t figure it out.
Now that Grant was his servant via the Soul Contract, it was clear that he wasn’t lying.
Right now, he couldn’t figure out the truth, but what surprised Alex even more, was the place in front of him. They had been above the sea earlier. How did he wake up here? Could it be that he had been unconscious for longer than he thought?
As a result, he was shocked when he asked.
“What?!”
“This is a force field hidden in the sea? The entire island is surrounded by a force field?”

That was incredible.
Alex understood the power of an array and formations, but it was a huge deal to set up such a large formation enhancement.
The spiritual and magical tools used must have been massive.
At this time, Yuno said, “What’s so great about the force field? It’s nothing more than an enchantment on a square inch of land, and it was done by borrowing the power of nature! The Holy Book in your hand, the place it points to, at minimum, would be a small world on its own. It’s also a small universe on its inside! Alright, I’m not interested in this enchantment, but I feel there may be some great things in the depths of this island.”
Grant pointed to the palace that was hidden by the dark. “In there?”
Yuno nodded. “Most probably!”
Grant’s eyes widened as he looked at the magnificent palace that stood in front of him like a giant beast, and for a moment, his heart surged. As Lord Commander of Department Six, he had longed for the path of cultivation. It was unfortunate that he had spent so much time yet could not obtain any secrets to any cultivation techniques. It seemed as though everything was just some myth made up by ancient people.
However, now, the truth was here.
Alex wanted to go over and find out, too.
Yuno said, “This may be a sect that has been leftover by the ancient times. Then, the sect was destroyed for some reason, but the force field that guards the sect still exists. Countless things like this happened before, and that’s how some of the so-called secret realms, Holy Land, came into existence.”
Grant looked at Yuno and finally asked the question that had been on his mind the whole time. “Miss Larsen, from what I know, you’ve always been an ordinary doctor. Not too long ago, your innocence had nearly been tainted, but with the abilities you’ve displayed now, I believe that even the ancestor of the Glen family wouldn’t be able to handle you. I really don’t understand.”
Yuno didn’t want to bother so much with just Alex’s servant and said, “There are a lot of things you don’t understand, and I can’t tell you! If you properly follow your master’s orders, then I may be able to. In the future, he will leak out some things for you. You’ll find it very useful!”
Grant felt moved by that.
But then, he shook his head. “My initial ultimate goal was to break through into the rank of Martial Honor to become a Martial Saint like in the legends. But, I now understand that there is always someone better out in the world, and everything I’ve chased for, in the eyes of you people, is just a joke! Now, I’m already more than seventy years old. How many years do Ihave left to live? It’s enough now just to see a real cultivation master, and I’m satisfied.”
