"Mr. Nathaniel, Ms. Freya, is that you?" came the voice of Tammy.

Freya and Nathaniel were hiding in the shadow of a hill, making it difficult to see them from a distance. Eventually, Freya relented, and the gun in her hand finally fell to the ground.

Nathaniel's eyes lit up with joy. He stood up and tightly embraced Freya.

Tammy, seeing the two of them hugging, covered her mouth with a smile and turned to walk away. Young people these days were much more open than in her time.

Carefully descending the slope, Tammy stood at the bottom and turned away anyone who was approaching.

Nathaniel held Freya tightly, almost as if he wanted to envelop her entirely, merging her into his very being.

"Frey, let's not hurt each other anymore. Let's live our lives well, alright?"

Freya felt exhausted. She sighed softly, not saying "alright," but it seemed like she had agreed, lost in a haze where even she couldn't distinguish between illusion and reality.

At the end of the week, Koen and his team arrived at Hoover Village to pick up their boss and his wife. They wanted to check on Mr. Nathaniel earlier, as this was the longest break Nathaniel had taken since founding Technologent Group, long enough for everyone to think he might become a recluse.
