"Oh I wouldn't dare to trouble you." Maxwell said in reply to Gordon's offer of hospitality. It was precisely because of Gordon that Maxwell felt uneasy about leaving Mona in the living room with him. He also couldn't stand the way Gordon was ogling Mona with his ** eyes. Mona reassured Maxwell and said, "Don't worry, I can take care of myself. I'll head to the kitchen and see if I can help out with anything." The Carter family had plenty of kitchen staff who obviously didn't need any help, but Mona didn't want to stay in the same room as Gordon and feel obliged to exchange niceties. It wouldn't seem nice to return directly to her room either, so she had opted to go to the kitchen. Mona helped to prep some of the ingredients, chopping up vegetables and whatnot at a relaxing pace.

It didn't take Gordon long to show up in the kitchen as well, on the grounds that he was hungry.

He saw Mona cutting up tomatoes and when she sampled a piece, he said in a euphemistic way, "Wow, Mona, that tomato looks really tasty in your mouth."

Mona sneered and said, "If you want, there are plenty more tomatoes in the refrigerator." She didn't want Gordon to eat the tomatoes that she'd prepared.

"Oh, the ones in the fridge won't taste the same as those in your hands." Gordon replied as he made his way over to her and picked up a tomato next to her hand. She was getting real tired of this annoying man.
