The boy in white turned toward the sound of the call. As soon as he spotted Jill, his face lit up with a gentle smile, and he walked over at a calm, steady pace.

He carried himself with quiet confidence, his features clean and attractive, his eyes full of a soft, almost unplaceable warmth.

When he reached them, Cameron looked politely toward Sloane, a question in his gaze. Jill beamed proudly as she made the introductions. “This is my awesome new friend, Sloane Rivers. Sloane, this is Cameron Clark–he and I grew up together.”

Cameron gave a warm smile and nodded to Sloane. His voice was smooth and gentle. “Hi, Sloane.”

Samson looked surprised to see her, then chuckled. “Jill? What are you doing here?”
