Whitney jumped at the sudden voice and spun around. Larry was standing right behind her, his eyes sharp and cold as they bore into her. Her heart skipped a beat, but she quickly forced a smile. “What are you doing here?”
Larry didn’t answer. His stare stayed locked on her, and his voice was low and threatening. “I’ve been busy. Don’t cause trouble for me right now.”
Whitney’s heart clenched. Her smile stiffened for a second before she regained her composure and replied with a breezy tone, “Of course. I’ll behave.”
