“We need a car,” Lucas said, his sharp gaze sweeping the surroundings.

“Wait.” Sloane grabbed his arm and pulled out her laptop. Her fingers flew across the keyboard. “I’ll disable the nearby surveillance first.”

In less than thirty seconds, every feed on her screen dissolved into static. “Done. We’ve got a five–minute blind spot.”

Lucas gave her an approving look, then set his sights on a delivery van parked by the curb. He motioned for Sloane to stay hidden and silently approached. One swift strike to the neck, and the driver slumped to the ground; Lucas dragged the man into the shadows without a sound.
