"Think it over before you tell me if you really want me to make that call," Shane said. He fixed his gaze on Jenny, waiting for her response.

Jenny pressed her lips together, knowing this wasn't going to end well, no matter how the call went later.

"You always had my back, no matter what. You'd stick up for me whenever someone gave me trouble. What happened to you?" she shot back, staring at him.

Shane recalled the time he'd stood up for her against Sasha, only to get chewed out for it because it was Jenny causing the drama.

His expression stiffened. "Obviously, I'm not that gullible anymore."

Jenny shook her head. "That's not the real reason. The truth is, you've gotten closer to Sasha, haven't you? Let me guess. You finally figured out she's better than me, and now you want to get back together with her, right?"
