Chapter 1652 Jealousy

Cindy didn’t look at Ian. For some reason, she couldn’t even look at him after she came in. In the end, she went to sit beside Aurora. Aurora looked at Ian, then at Cindy. “So, what did you two talk about? You didn’t just come back right after he gave you the racket, right?”

Cindy gave it some thought, but they didn’t talk about anything meaningful at all. When they were on the phone just now, the guy asked her to join a badminton game that night, but she refused since she had an appointment. That was why he came to give her the racket. The guy didn’t even bring up the invitation and only made small talk. “Nothing. Just some small talk.”

Ian couldn’t help it anymore and snorted. “What did he give you? You should open it. It must be expensive, since it’s for a girl.”

Cindy frowned and turned around. “You shouldn’t insult presents. It’s a show of friendship.”

Ian wanted to mock her further, but he calmed down immediately. He got into a fight with her last time because of his bad temper, so he wouldn’t make the same mistake again.

Since Ian had shut up, Cindy’s slight displeasure faded away as well.

Aurora suddenly quieted down and went back to her lunch, as if she saw nothing.

Lunch went by quickly since everyone was quiet. After that, Aurora took the racket the guy gave to Cindy. Cindy hadn’t opened it, so it was still in the box.

Aurora looked at it closely. “The box looks expensive. This must have cost a lot.”

Ian was about to go back to bed since he was still sleepy, but he stood still after hearing what Aurora said.

Cindy put the dishes into the dishwasher, then she washed her hands and came out of the kitchen.

Aurora shook the box before her. “Aren’t you opening this?”

Cindy had no such idea. She wasn’t using it anytime soon, and there was nothing special about a racket. However, since Aurora and Ian were looking at her, she hesitated for a moment before going over to open the box and take the racket out. She didn’t know much about rackets, but she could still tell that it was an expensive one.

Aurora looked at it and gasped. “Oh, he’s such a nice guy. This is good stuff.”

Ian wanted to mock her again, but he was smart enough to keep quiet.

Cindy didn’t really like badminton, so she didn’t care how good the racket was. Even so, she swung it around and nodded. “Not bad.” She put the racket back into the box. “I’ll treat them to a meal next time. Can’t take this for free.”
