Chapter 1712 That Person Cares for You

Cindy hadn’t fallen asleep just yet and she was merely resting in bed with her eyes shut. However, she couldn’t help herself and her brows were furrowed into a thin line.

Ian walked toward the bed and leaned forward to look at her. “Do you have a headache? Do you want me to massage your temples?”

Meanwhile, Cindy responded with a muffled voice, “That’s not necessary.”

Despite her refusal, he went ahead anyway and he reached out to massage her temples gently as he took a seat by the bed.

Cindy could clearly tell that he wasn’t adept at giving a massage and his techniques were quite awkward, but it was quite soothing indeed.

She had intended to show her integrity and fling his hand aside, but she ended up enjoying it so she considered it for a moment before suppressing herself.

As for Ian, he spoke as he massaged her temple. “Did you have trouble sleeping last night? Was it because I was too bothersome?” He had meant to ask whether he had hugged her too tightly by asking that question.

However, Cindy’s thoughts went to something else and she grunted an affirmative response. “You were quite loud on the phone.”

Just then, he blinked his eyes in response. “I thought that you didn’t hear that. I actually purposely went out of the room to answer the call.”

Oh—they spoke on the phone too! Cindy pressed her lips together and stopped replying. It looks like there were quite a few things that I didn’t realize from last night. I wonder what they talked about last night. It must have been quite sweet. Furthermore, they had so much to talk about. They continued to text each other even after hanging up on the phone!

Meanwhile, Ian considered it for a moment before heaving a sigh. “Do you think that perhaps he was affected by my harsh words from the other day so he developed a guilty conscience?” However, his guilty conscience was reflected toward Sean and not me. Well, Sean should thank me for that, then.

Cindy was unsure of what Ian was going on about, so she lifted her head to look at him.

Ian was lost in his own thoughts so he didn’t explain himself and continued, “Is he pitiful though? I thought about this question for quite some time yesterday. I don’t think you can consider him pitiful.”

As soon as Ian finished his sentence, he smacked his lips. “I’m honestly quite surprised to know that he reflected on his past actions. He’s such a prideful man and he has always been conscious about maintaining a perfect front. Do you know what could have caused him to apologize?” After Ian said that, he hesitated and then continued, “To be honest, I would like to see the regretful expression on his face.”

Just then, Cindy blinked her eyes and she reckoned that she was right in her guess. Last night, the person who had called and texted him must have been Yulia. Yulia’s such a prideful person and she cares about the way she is portrayed in front of the public more than anything else. She has a fiery temper as well. It’s quite likely that she would lay down her pride in front of solely Ian himself.

She snorted and despite her restrain, her tone of voice was slightly scornful. “I guess that’s true. That proves how much the person cares for you.”

Ian paused for a moment because he couldn’t quite catch the meaning behind her words. “Cares for me?”
