Chapter 1762 Sally Comes

Ian nodded. “It’s either Simon or Sally.” Nobody else would call him after all. Not long after he hung up, a text came in.

Cindy raised her head and looked at his phone that was on the table. “Take a look. I’m curious, actually. I want to know what they have to say.”

Ian pushed his phone over to Cindy. “I’m not really interested.”

Cindy took the phone and clicked into the text. It was from Sally, saying she wanted to talk with Ian. Cindy took a deep breath. She wants to talk? She thinks she can negotiate under this kind of circumstance? We have nothing to talk about here.

Aurora huddled over, glanced at the text, and took Ian’s phone away to delete the message. “Tell them to go back from whence they came. They’re trying to have their cake and eat it, but I say we smash the cake in their faces.”

Cindy had the same thought. They made a mess of everyone’s lives, and now they want to talk because their plan backfired. Do they think everyone’s a pushover? Get real.

They went down for a stroll after finishing their meal. They thought Leah and her cronies had left, but not long after they came out, they saw Sally.

Sally did not look good. Her hair was unkempt, and her clothes were messy, as if she was tangled in a struggle with someone earlier. When she saw Ian, hope rose in her eyes, and she trotted over, calling out to him, “Ian! Ian!”

Ian frowned. He held Cindy’s shoulder with one hand and his mother’s arm with the other, then he turned around and left.

Sally started to panic when she realized he was leaving. “Give me a minute, Ian! Please! I have something to say to you!”

Ian didn’t want to hear what she had to say. He could guess what she had in mind, since there weren’t a lot of things she could say at this point. He held the ladies closer to him and started to walk even faster so he could leave.

Beset by panic, Sally broke into a run and caught up to them, but she didn’t try to hold him. All she did was stand in front of him and opened her arms to stop them from leaving. She humbly requested, “Please, just give me a minute, Ian. I don’t need much. Just let me say my piece.”

Aurora frowned. She only vaguely saw Sally through the peephole earlier, but now that Sally was standing in front of them, she could see that the girl took after her mother. She looked harmless whenever she tried to be innocent, and now that she looked like a mess, it only made her look even more pitiful.
