Chapter 1810 The Funeral Ended

It was indeed a comedy movie because the couple that was seated next to them stopped making out and started to laugh, but Cindy and Ian couldn’t laugh whatsoever. Although Cindy really liked one of the actors in the show, she couldn’t bring herself to laugh despite watching the actor’s funny performance.

Immediately, she lost her interest.

The movie’s duration was about an hour and they sat in their seats for the entire time.

She finally couldn’t help but yawn before she turned toward Ian.

At this moment, Ian was staring at the screen with a calm expression, but she really couldn’t tell whether he was actually watching the movie or not.

It seemed like he was in a daze, but it seemed like he was being serious too.

All of the couples around them rose to leave in giggles after the movie finally ended. As they discussed the show and left the cinema hall, Cindy and Ian were still seated.

Ian still stared at the screen and he didn’t look like he wanted to get up.

After waiting for a while, Cindy reached out to grab Ian’s hand. “Let’s go.”

It was at that moment when he finally returned to his senses before he turned toward her with a lost expression. “In the past, I really wanted to sever ties with the Morgan Family. However, now that the old man is dead, I don’t know whether I should be sad or happy even though I can finally break free from the family now.”

Cindy scooted closer toward him to hug his arm. “You should be happy. From today onward, you and your mother will be able to freely live your lives without anyone trying to threaten you with the Morgan Family’s name.”

Ian nodded. “You’re right.”

Then, Ian rose to his full height before he left the cinema hall together with Cindy. However, his phone started to ring after they exited and he took his phone out to see that it was Sophia calling.

Sophia had texted and contacted him in the past to comfort him, but everyone knew that words were futile in moments like this. After he accepted the call, he greeted Sophia while Sophia sighed at the other end of the call. “Since the funeral is finally over, you aren’t busy with anything else at the moment, are you?”

Ian held Cindy’s hand before they headed to the lounge. “No, the old man will be cremated tomorrow and everything will be over once he is laid to rest.”

Just like Logan, Sophia didn’t have a good impression toward Bryce as well. “Well, at least he lived a great life before he passed. Don’t be sad anymore. Things like this are destined to happen.”

Ian hummed in agreement. “I’m not really sad about it, but I’m definitely overwhelmed.”

Then, she pondered for a moment before changing the topic. “Logan previously called me and told me that he wants to get all of us together for a meal, but it was placed on hold after what happened to you. Now that everything is almost settled, let’s discuss a time to plan a gathering since you might be too busy and can’t meet us anytime you want.”

He agreed. “Well, I’ll be leaving the day after tomorrow. Since I’ve already arranged all the work at the company and there’s not much to do here any longer, I’ll be leaving as soon as I can.”

The Novel will be updated daily. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
