Chapter 2039 Before the Banquet

Cindy trusted him, of course, but she was too sensitive and insecure. She thought about it for a while and hugged Ian. "Keep this up and I'll cancel the backup plan."

Ian tossed his phone away and hugged her back. "I'm just asking you a question. What about we get registered tomorrow or the day after that?"

Um, that's actually nice, Cindy thought. After all, she did only expect to become Ian's legal wife. She never thought she'd get a ceremony, so she was happy enough to agree.

She thought she was being a spoiled kid. Ian was already committed to her, but she was still being a coward. It wasn't like her, so she nodded. "I'll go if you still want to marry me then."

Ian stared at her, then he held her head and kissed her. "Why won't you trust me?" he asked.

Cindy trusted Ian; she just didn't trust herself. Why does Ian want to settle for me? Am I really that good?

They had a banquet to attend the next day, so they slept early that night.

After they went to bed, Ian hugged her from behind. "I have no idea when the wedding will be, so please endure it for a while." His contract was still ongoing, and he had to follow his company's arrangements. The contract didn't say he couldn't get married, but he still had to uphold his image of being single.

Cindy didn't think that was unfair. She rolled over and leaned against his chest. "It's fine this way. You know me. I don't like all these ceremonies." And with how popular Ian was, announcing their marriage or holding a wedding would be annoying for her. She was sick of hearing rumors about them, and she wanted to live a quiet life.

Ian kept quiet and turned the lights off, then they drifted to sleep in each other's embrace.

Cindy's alarm woke her up early the next morning. She quickly got out of the bed, took a shower, and went through her skincare routine to make sure she was in her best shape. After she was done, breakfast was served, and the couple filled their bellies first, then they waited for the makeup artist to arrive.

Logan was the one who made the arrangements, so Ian and Cindy didn't have to worry about it. The staff at the venue had also called and said that everything was ready.

Cindy leaned against the sofa. "Your friend has thought this through."

Ian grunted. "He might look nonchalant, but he's always reliable in times like this."
