Nancy forced herself to stay calm, clenching her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms, yet she didn't even notice the pain.

Her phone, lying on the floor, buzzed again.

Nancy quickly grabbed it, half-expecting another message from Hayley, but it was a text from the identity cancellation department.

[Ms. Gonzalez, don't forget to drop off your paperwork at the office in two days. If you don't, the cancellation process might get delayed.]
