Nancy was initially tempted to pretend she hadn't noticed, but Judson looked so utterly defeated that it was impossible to ignore.

It almost seemed as though Judson was the one who had taken the blows and been bullied, not her. Nancy couldn't help but chuckle softly, "If you've got something to say, just say it."

"Nancy, you must have gone through a lot, haven't you?" Judson's voice was thick with emotion, the thought of Nancy being taunted by Hayley gnawing at him.

Nancy momentarily stopped moving. A wave of emotion, indescribable and unfamiliar, suddenly swept over her.

No one had ever really cared about how she felt. Wilma had stood up for her in the past, but her intentions were more about ensuring Nancy settled down with Cyrus, maybe even start a family.

But now, here was Judson, seeing right through her, naming her feelings as if they were an open book. Nancy took a deep breath, her voice steady, "It's all in the past."

"But it's not really over," Judson insisted, gripping her hand tightly, his eyes misty with regret and guilt. "It's all my fault. If I'd come into your life sooner, I would've taken you away from all that!"

He pulled her into a tight embrace, "Nancy, Cyrus is a complete jerk. Never forgive that jerk!"
