This wasn't their first kiss, nor was it the first time Walter kissed her when they were clear-headed. But Shakira was certain she'd never felt her senses heightened to such an extent. Her lips felt soft and hot, trembling slightly. Walter kissed her awkwardly, cautiously but unable to hold back his intensity.

His large hand moved from the back of her head down her neck, finally resting firmly on her shoulder blade, encircling her with a possessiveness that words couldn't convey. Shakira felt dizzy, and when her mind started to clear, Walter had already let her go. She was slumped against Walter's chest, gasping for air like a fish almost out of water.

Walter noticed her flushed face and distant look, assuming she was just out of breath.

He couldn't help but frown. "Don't know how to breathe properly?"
