I heard a shot ring out and then one of Jack’s men dropped dead

Immediately, I turned around and to my relief, I saw a team of people with similar masks covering their lower faces, carrying guns.

Finally, I felt at ease and when I turned back around, I found Alpha Jack’s mouth downturned, glaring down at all of us,

“I see you’ve got yourself some backup.”

“I guess I’m not dumb after all.” I replied, then El got out of the car and stood by my side.

‘Oh, you’re still dumb,” Alpha Jack replied smugly, because you’re outnumbered.”

Immediately, he said that, wolves crawled out of the woods and surrounded us, their teeth bared in a menacing snarl. I looked around, discovering hundreds of wolves surrounding us all and my heart began to race.

I turned back to Alpha Jack. “You don’t need to do this!” I yelled at him. “Unneccessary lives will be lost!”

“Yes. Yours.” He grinned and I realized he was never going to let me have my inheritance without a fight.

Her eyes smiled. “I was hoping he wouldn’t.” Then she raised her right fist in the air just as Jack’s men prepared to attack. I grabbed the knives strapped to my sides, my heart hammering fast. I wasn’t informed about this part of the plan so I had no idea what was coming next.
