Chapter 1:

? ? ? ? ?

In the opulent, dimly lit private cinema, the most exclusive jewelery auction was broadcast live.

The rich cadence of the auctioneer's voice echoed through the room. "One million, one o'clock, two o'clock..."

Alicia Bennett barely registered the words, her thoughts completely consumed by the man beneath her. His intensity overwhelmed her, driving her to sink her teeth into his shoulder in a desperate attempt to resist his onslaught.

The man merely grunted in response, not stopping or slowing.

“Ease up, will you?” he purred, his voice thick with tension as he squeezed her waist, ordering her body to submit to his will.

Alice, still biting his shoulder, hesitated. Slowly, her jaw unclenched and her teeth came loose. Just as the apology began to form on her lips, he let out a low, almost mocking laugh.

"That's not the part I asked you to ease up on."

Alicia froze, heat rising to her cheeks. The apology died in her throat, replaced by a wave of shame that stained her skin crimson.

But the intensity between them only increased as time passed, their bodies tangled in a battle of passion and control.

The auctioneer's hammer fell. "Sold for ten million! A round of applause for Mr. Joshua Yates!"

The name hit Alice like a bolt of lightning. Her body instantly stiffened, something the man couldn't help but notice. Her movements stopped as her eyes, half-closed in satisfaction, lazily darted towards the screen.

The camera focused on Joshua Yates' face, showing every detail of his familiar features in perfect clarity.

“Joshua Yates, the second son of the Yates family… an acquaintance, perhaps?” he said, the corners of his lips curling into a sly smile as he playfully nibbled on Alicia's earlobe.

Alice frowned. The last thing she wanted to do was talk about it.

"Is gossip also part of your services?" I snapped in a cold, irritated voice.
