Gerry could smell fresh gossip in the air. “Are you two together?” I have asked directly.

Before Alicia could answer, Caden snatched the phone out of her hand and told Gerry, “I’ll bring it over in a little while.”

“Understood,” Caden replied, hanging up and handing the phone back to Alicia.

She stood still, staring at him, not moving.

Caden, who had been moving to open the door, stopped when he noticed her reluctance. He furrowed his eyebrows. “What's wrong?”

“Gerry warned me to be careful around Lilliana’s admirers,” Alicia said, her voice tense. “You're Lilliana's boss. Shouldn’t I be more careful around you?”

She was already on guard against him. “How come you're here all of a sudden? Have you come to silence me?”

Caden blinked, remaining silent for a few seconds before replying coldly, “That's right. “I’m going to take you to a remote place, do whatever I want with you, kill you, and dispose of your body.”

Alice took a sharp breath. Clicking her tongue, she decided to stop arguing with him.

They had to leave immediately. If Lilliana's fans showed up, they would be in serious trouble.
