Chapter 85:

Alicia's face clearly showed irritation. If Caden hadn't taken advantage of her earlier, she might have agreed without hesitation. After all, what was the problem with feeding someone soup? It would only take about ten minutes.

However, Caden was a cunning fox. She knew it could take at least half an hour to finish. Suppressing her frustration, Alice tried to keep her tone even. “You've tormented me enough. Are you still not satisfied? We’re both busy, so eat quickly, give me what I want, and we can part on good terms, okay?”

Caden replied sharply, "If the situation were the other way around, would you let me off the hook so easily?"

Alicia looked shocked. She couldn't help but imagine herself in her place. If the day ever came when she had the upper hand over Caden, forcing him to swallow his pride and beg for her mercy...

Normally he exuded arrogance, constantly looking down on everyone around him. However, if she threatened him, he would have no choice but to obey her every command. Just thinking about it made her want to laugh out loud.

But when she snapped back to reality and saw Caden's imposing face, her irritation only intensified. Right now, he was the one enjoying the situation. She was the one who felt like the joke in this whole scenario.

Alice clenched her fingers. The last remnants of her hesitation prevented her from acting.

Caden nonchalantly commented, “You’ve worked so hard to get what you want. Are you really going to throw in the towel now, right at the finish line?”

As he spoke, his voice took on a low, soothing tone. It was almost comforting, if it weren't for the underlying tension between them. It seemed to Alice that he was only adding to the flames.

“Do you have any idea what I've done? I've been running around for over an hour just to please you. Can’t you at least show a little appreciation for my effort?” I have asked.
