The Woman From Hell

That night, after returning to my room, I took a shower and fell asleep. I fell asleep soon after I lay down, perhaps because I was exhausted. I was woken up by the glare of the sun the next day.

I stretched out my hand to touch the side of the bed. It was empty, and there was no warmth. Did Theo not come back to the room last night?

I got up from bed, washed up, and went downstairs.

This was probably to atone for what happened yesterday. I walked toward the dining table, pulled out the chair, and sat down. "You're being so virtuous today?"
