Chapter 642: Why Not Both?

Carl, watching from the examiner’s desk, noted the same thing, and silently hoped she wouldn’t have to repeat the exam.

“If she doesn’t want to focus on her studies she shouldn’t come here to waste our time,” a stern examiner commented as he wrote something down.

Judging by the look on his face, it couldn’t be anything good.

Many other students went in one after another until the last exam ended. The tension in the hall finally eased, replaced by sighs of exhaustion and nervous laughter. Everyone had done their best, yet their minds couldn’t rest, not with the results still pending.

They packed their notes and equipment, chatting in low tones about the questions, the patients, and the rumors still swirling around Nnenna’s performance. Some were confident, others already regretting their mistakes, but all shared one thought, tomorrow’s majors might be even tougher.

Most of them left the academy grounds soon after, heading home to prepare for the third and fourth major exams scheduled for the next day. Sleep would be a luxury tonight; everyone knew the real battle had only just begun.

And though no one said it out loud, one name lingered quietly on every student’s lips as they walked away, Nnenna.

Darius jogged to catch up with Nnenna just as she stepped out of the teaching hospital, her white coat still fluttering behind her.

“I heard the rumours. My girl destroyed the competition. If you can crush your Strategy exam tomorrow the way you did today, I’ll die a happy man,” he said, half joking, half serious.

Nnenna smiled, brushing her hair off her face. “First of all, it’s not a competition. Secondly, don’t worry. I won’t disappoint you.”

“Good,” Darius replied full of smiles.

Nnenna smiled back, glancing around “Where’s Carl and the others? I thought they were waiting.”

“Something came up,” he said, his tone turning more serious. “War preparations. They had to leave right after your exam. Carl too, he went straight to join the meeting.”

“Then we should go,” Nnenna said simply.
