Lila didn't bother checking on Amelia. Instead, she got up to take a shower. She found Kieran still on the couch, going through documents on his laptop when she came out.

She walked over and ruffled his hair. "It's time to rest. Deal with work tomorrow. Stop staying up late all the time."

Kieran closed his laptop and gently pulled her by her hand. Then, he effortlessly lifted her when he stood up.

Lila wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her to the bed and placed her down. They lay down together.

She turned to look at him as he reached out to switch off the light before pulling her into his embrace.
