Hadley expressed her confusion, asking, “How did these photos get out? They’re not the kind that anyone can just obtain.”

“Exactly,” Elissa added. “It makes me think Alita might have upset someone important in the industry.”

The industry was already crowded with people but had few opportunities. There was simply no room for

newcomers like Alita.

“Likely,” Hadley said with a nod, feeling her stomach rumble. “Enough about her. I could use something to eat.”

“Same here. Let’s grab something quickly.”

Two days later, with the typhoon behind them, performances picked up again.

With Alita gone, Hadley found her days with the troupe far less complicated, focused solely on rehearsals and

shows.

To her, the routine was as essential as breathing or eating.

Following their stint in Tidebourne, the troupe toured several other cities.

One evening after the show, Hadley glanced at her phone, eagerly counting down the days until she returned to

Blathe.

Her phone suddenly rang–it was Colleen.

“Mommy!” As soon as the call connected, Colleen and Joy’s faces appeared together on the screen, with Colleen mimicking Joy’s cheerful greeting.

“Yes, my darlings, you’re both doing so well,” Hadley responded with a laugh, filled with joy.

“It’s incredible.” Colleen noticed Hadley’s growing happiness and smiled. “Ever since you started this career, you’ve been glowing and even more beautiful!”

“Auntie Colleen,” Joy chimed in, “Mommy has always been beautiful! The most beautiful!”

Colleen paused, and then laughed heartily. “You’re right, Joy! What about me, then?”

Caught off–guard for a second, Joy then said, “You are the most beautiful too!”

Colleen continued playfully, “And what about yourself?”

“Um?” Joy furrowed her brow in deep thought. “I am also the most beautiful.”
