Chapter 794:

Eric’s eyes narrowed sharply, fixing on Hadley as tears began to well up in her eyes. Gently, almost tenderly, he cupped her face, softly wiping the falling tears with his thumb. Yet, his voice was cold and mocking as he whispered, “Tell me, who are these tears really for?”

Hadley’s voice faltered, her body rigid as she glimpsed the wild anger burning in Eric’s gaze. Instinctively, she tightened her grip around his arm, shouting desperately, “Denver, run now!”

“Hadley,” Eric hissed slowly, his voice vibrating dangerously as his anger surged uncontrollably. “You’re openly protecting another man right in front of me? How could you betray me like this?”

Abruptly, Eric shoved Hadley aside. She cried out sharply, “Ah!”

Eric had not intended to harm her. The shove was merely to free himself from her grasp, wanting only to reach Denver. Yet Hadley lost her balance and stumbled backward awkwardly, reaching out desperately to steady herself. Her elbow collided sharply with the table edge, sending waves of pain shooting through her arm. She gasped. “Ah!”

Her cry halted Eric and Denver instantly, drawing their full attention back to her. Hadley clutched her injured arm, doubled over in agony, unable to straighten.
