Elvin drove her to Millland Road and stopped in front of her building. “Thanks again, Mr. Webster,” Hadley said as she stepped out, waving before closing the door. “Drive safe.”

“Hadley!” Just as she turned, Elvin hopped out of the car and hurried after her.

She turned back, startled. “You forgot your flowers,” he said with a grin, handing them over.

“Oh,” Hadley chuckled, accepting them. “Thanks.”

Back in the driver’s seat, Elvin rolled down the window. “Take a look at the script when you have time. I’ll let you know when we’re doing a table read—probably in the next few days.”
