The chief physician glanced at Ferris. Seeing no objection, he answered her question. “Our recommendation is to begin with conservative treatment. The clot isn’t large yet, and if we can keep it under control, the risk stays lower than surgery.”

“We’ll need weekly follow-ups to monitor the progress. If the condition doesn’t improve, we’ll move to surgical intervention.”

After explaining, the chief physician looked at both of them. “What do you think?”

Ferris glanced at Hadley. Neither of them had an answer.

The chief physician added, “You may want to take some time to discuss it. Or better yet, wait for Mr. Scott to wake up and hear his opinion.”

A decision like this couldn’t be made without Eric.

No matter the treatment plan, his cooperation—and consent—would be necessary.

Ferris stood. “Then we’ll wait. Let him decide.”
