Chapter 19 An Unexpected Twist
At the entrance of the extravagant ceremony, Lewis sighed, “Yulia doesn’t seem to forgive me…”
Betty said quickly, “She’s just stubborn, and hasn’t made up her mind yet.”
“Don’t worry, Lewis. I’ll chase that good-for-nothing rascal, Skylar away once the ceremony is over.”
“Yulia will soon understand everything once he stops stirring up trouble.”
Lincoln added, “Skylar is far worse than you, Lewis. You don’t need him as a rival.”
“Plus, Yulia agreed to his proposal only because that old hag arranged the marriage for her.”
“If you truly love her, please be a little patient. Women are soft on the inside.”
Lewis was overjoyed, “You know how to rekindle someone else’s dreams, sir!”
“Whether I can marry Yulia, it all depends on you.”
“Nice one, lad!” Betty laughed.
The three of them reached the entrance as they spoke.
The entrance was filled with people who wanted to see what was going on.
These people did not have an invitation. However, they had the same thought as Lincoln as he wanted to see more of the world.
Of course, there were media reporters as that was such a grand ceremony.
The staff was busy as they had to broadcast and report everything that was happening.
The ceremony reached its climax when everyone roared in excitement, followed by camera shutters.
Lincoln and Betty followed behind Lewis and had their waists stretched out as if looking at people with their nostrils.
People were looking at them enviously, which made their egos grow bigger.
There were two rows of soldiers with firearms standing at the checkpoint.
Lincoln handed over the invitations to the auditors.
Just as they were about to go in, the auditor stretched out his hand and shouted, “Stop right there!”
“These invitations are fake, no entry!”

Lewis was taken aback. “Impossible! I bought the invitations from someone with a large sum of money!”
The auditor frowned. “I don’t care where you got these from, the serial numbers of these invitations aren’t recorded in the list, leave this place at once!”
Yulia was not far away from them at that time. She then said to Skylar, “Why does it seem like something is going on between my dad and the auditor?”
“I told you that your father and stepmother would get themselves into trouble, didn’t I?”
Skylar chuckled, “Let’s go over and have a look.”
As they reached the auditing office, they heard Lewis yelling at the auditor. “You must have
forgotten to record them down.”
“Why should we bear with your mistake? Isn’t this supposed to be your job?”
“We are Dragon Commander’s guests, all of you here can’t afford to offend us!”
“Oh, is that so?” The auditor sneered and tore the invitations to shreds.
Just as Lewis was about to give them an explanation, there were already 20 soldiers surrounding them in a circle with guns pointed at their heads.
“How dare you forge Dragon Commander’s invitation? Now die!”

Like a bolt from the blue, the three of them had chills all over their bodies.
“Tell me, who forged them?”
The auditor questioned loudly.
Lewis almost wet his pants. In a rush, he pointed at Lincoln and Betty then said, “It’s them… They said they’d bring me to the ceremony.”
“I’m innocent, sir! I really have no idea…”

Lincoln and Betty almost spat out blood as soon as they heard him.
It was a shame that they fell of Lewis’ apology earlier. However, now that something bad happened, he put the blame on them for such a big crime.

Betty gritted her teeth and yelled in anger, “Lewis…you bastard!”
Lincoln replied, “Lewis, you obviously gave these invitations to me!”
Yulia was struck by lightning upon seeing the scene.
