The banquet hall was brimming with well-dressed guests who were in groups of twos and threes chatting away happily.

These were socialites who were fond of banquets. Of course, more than admiring their fellow guests who were good-looking and sampling the finest wine around the world, these socialites were also there to expand their own social circle.

Today’s banquet was held by Parker Jenkins and those that received the invitation came dressed in their best. Most of them even came to the venue early to show their respect to Parker.

After entering the hall, Skylar and Dianne walked around for a bit but they could not find Parker or Miles. They then decided to take a seat and helped themselves to the buffet spread while they waited.

“Who do they think they are? Coming here cadging free meals like gluttons!” exclaimed Alex with disdain as he looked at them from a distance.

No matter how capable Skylar was, in Alex’s eyes, he was still a hillbilly who was lucky to be adopted by his penniless Uncle Nathaniel.

However, Alex was so fearful of Skylar that he only dared to curse Skylar under his breath instead of doing it to his face.

After a while, there was a commotion at the door, and someone exclaimed loudly, “It’s Parker! Parker is here!”

Everyone turned towards the door.
