Chapter 535 It Must Be Him

Karen received a call from her husband and assumed that she finally had support, so she answered the call immediately. However, before she could complain, her husband began yelling at her. "Who exactly have you offended, Karen? I can't believe that the empire I've worked so hard to build was ruined because of you! You dumb b*tch! Just you wait, I will strangle you to death as soon as I get home!" Apparently, Karen's husband was not known to be quick to anger, so this just showed how furious the man was as having his company going bankrupt was a major disaster to him. All he wanted to do at the moment was murder Karen. Her husband hung up the call before she could argue. Her husband called other companies in hopes of bailing his company out as soon as the call ended. This made Karen panic and she wanted to call her husband back, but she was greeted by a wave of violent knocking at her door.

It turned out that a group of people could be heard yelling at her before she could open the door. They yelled, "Karen, you b*tch! Get your *ss out and apologize to us for manipulating everyone here! We will not leave until you do! Oh, not just us, we want you to apologize to Skylar and Valerie. You've framed them and nearly ruined a good father and a wonderful woman! Don't just hide in there, you coward! We have numbers and we can take turns waiting outside at your door. We refuse to believe that you can hide in there forever!" The violent knocking terrified her completely.

It was only then did she realize that karma had finally caught up to her. She intended to manipulate the commenters to search for Skylar and ruin Valerie's reputation. She never expected that she would be exposed instead. She panicked. What should I do? Oh gosh, what should I do? Karen immediately called the emergency number, but before she could say anything, she was greeted by the same response she received earlier. "What?" Karen was completely stunned by the response. She could not believe that even the police force had refused to accept her pleas. This made her panic even more. She was beginning to wonder if she had gone insane or the world had completely gone insane. If this was not a dream, she wondered if she could even make it out alive. So, she began to think the whole situation through. She was still gloating when the commenters were insulting Skylar and Valerie before she went to the washroom, but everything changed in less than five minutes. She was unable to make any statements, nor was she able to make a police report. Moreover, the company she bought bots from had gone bankrupt and even her husband's company had folded. She wondered if things could get any worse than this. This was the first time she had felt hopeless. So, she began to make crazy assumptions about who exactly was behind all of this.
