At the white building on the outskirts of Radiant City, Claudia happily ran out, in stark contrast to the heavy and oppressive atmosphere around her. She dashed forward, calling out, "Nick!"

She threw herself into Nicholas's arms without hesitation. She remembered how, in the past, he would always lift her up by the waist. He would spin her around in the air, and smile at her. But now, his embrace was as cold as ice. She hugged him tighter, but the silky fabric of his suit made her grip slip.

Claudia wasn't obsessed with a hug. After all, if Nicholas liked how things went between them last night, perhaps something more would happen once he sobered up.

She looked up at him with admiration. "Nick, you brought so many people with you. Are you here to take me home?"

Tears welled up in her eyes. Although she looked pitiful, a hint of triumph flickered beneath her gaze.

If she had known he was so easy to manipulate, she would have seduced him when he was drunk years ago, saving herself from these three years of suffering. Without a word, Nicholas grabbed the back of Claudia's collar and took her off from him. He held her effortlessly in one hand, barely breaking stride as he walked. The hospital doors creaked open. Without turning back, Nicholas ordered in a low and menacing tone, "You all stay outside."

Beth nodded and gently closed the door. Turning to the bodyguards, she warned, "Whatever happens tonight, not a word leaves this place."

A flash of lightning illuminated the stern faces around her, and she nodded in satisfaction.
