Seeing the tears, Sheffield was taken aback. He grabbed her hands quickly and asked anxiously, "Evelyn, what happened? Why are you crying? Was I being too forward? Am I hurting you? If you really don't want to see me anymore, I'll leave. Please don't be upset. Don't cry." He had tried to get close to her because he wanted to bring her happiness.
