Chapter 9 The Woman from Five Years Ago

No way! She had to go back and check! Tiffany bolted out of there, and just as she hit

the hotel entrance, she spotted Flora waving at her.

Weirdly enough, Sam was standing right next to Flora, behaving himself.

So... Leon didn't take Sam?

Tiffany sprinted over and hugged "Sam" tight, still feeling that lingering fear.

Now that Leon knew she had a son, he'd definitely try to take him away!

"Mommy, what's wrong?" Flora asked, her little head poking out, curious about why Tiffany was so freaked out over Sam.

Tiffany let out a sigh of relief and hugged Flora too, gently stroking their heads. "Nothing, Mommy just missed you. Flora, why did you come out? See anyone weird?" She thought Leon had sent someone to snatch her son, but he was standing right in front of her.

"It was Sam. He wanted to see Mommy, so I was gonna take him to the building Mommy designed, but then you came back. If you're asking if we saw anyone, Sam and I just came out and only saw you, no strangers," Flora answered honestly, and Barry nodded beside her.

This made Tiffany even more puzzled. Since they hadn't seen Leon, how did he know about her son? And why didn't he take him away? What did he mean by what he said?

Forget it, as long as her son was still with her, it was fine. Tiffany reached out and touched Barry's cheek. "Let's go back." She smiled, holding their hands and heading back to the hotel room together.

Flora quickly pulled Barry to play chess. After ten minutes, her face scrunched up in frustration. She put down the chess piece and kept staring at Barry, looking him up and down, finally propping her little hand on her chin and sighing.

"Sam, did you secretly practice with someone behind my back? You could never beat me at chess before, but today you're so good, it's like you're a different person," Flora complained.

Barry immediately got nervous, thinking his cover was blown. "I... I studied," he stammered.
