Xavier stood at the doorway, looking at the familiar figure inside. Though it had only been a fortnight since he last saw her, it felt like an eternity. The bodyguards retreated, standing outside. When Xavier stepped in, the atmosphere in the room grew tense.

"I thought I made myself very clear," Yvette said.

Xavier moved closer, his face obscured by the backlighting, making his expression unreadable. He said nothing as he stared at Yvette intensely, not looking away for a moment.

Uncomfortable under his gaze, Yvette took a step back.

"Matthew already gave you the money, right? We're done," she continued.

Still, Xavier remained silent, his deep eyes reflecting only her silhouette. He slowly raised his hand, but before he could place it on her shoulder, Yvette took a few more steps back to avoid his touch. Taking a deep breath, Yvette asked, "What do you want?"
