Wayne was a bit surprised that Hera knew he had met Everly. But after thinking about it, he realized that with Hera's and Bernard's capabilities, they had probably figured out most of what had happened by now. Wayne recalled the way Everly had pushed him the previous night and believed that she hadn't meant any harm. They lost their parents when they were young, and Wayne had raised Everly. He knew her well. She wouldn't even kill a bug, let alone hurt someone. She was probably consumed by a moment of rage.

Hera was busy, and Wayne didn't want to trouble her with the issues between him and his sister. Hera had been more than kind to them. He felt that it was his responsibility to sort Everly out.
