After a long day, Amara was exhausted. She planned to take a quick shower, so she squeezed out some body wash and quickly lathered it over her skin, intending to rinse it off without much fuss.

Suddenly, a hissing sound came from the corner of the shower.

Amara glanced over and saw a green snake, about as thick as her thumb, coiled up in the corner. Its triangular head was raised, flicking its tongue in her direction, and it started slithering towards her.

Amara had always been terrified of snakes and other creepy crawlies. This sight nearly made her sour scatter.

Her heart almost leaped out of her chest as she let out a scream loud enough to shake the house and bolted for the door.
