Chapter 97

Eric, oblivious to Teresa's distress, went to fetch another bowl of the bitter herbal medicine.

The sight and smell of the medicine triggered Teresa's nausea again. Fighting the urge to retch, she said, "Please bring me some sugar. I need it to wash away the taste." "So much trouble," Eric grumbled as he went into the kitchen.

Left alone with the bowl of medicine, Teresa felt a wave of misery wash over her. Was it the herbal remedy or her aching heart that made her feel worse? It was hard to tell.

The elevator doors slid open, and Tiffany found herself face-to-face with a very drunk Brianna.

Brianna was swaying on her feet as she sneered, "Well, Tiffany. Talk about enemies crossing paths, huh?"

Tiffany tried to walk past, but Brianna grabbed her arm. "Why are you so annoying? You're everywhere. Tell me, who's the stalker here? You cost me my job, and you even want to harass me at home, huh?" Tiffany shook her off, her tone icy as she retorted, "I'm not stalking you. I have no interest in you. You moved here to spite me, but guess what? I don't live with my sister anymore. Your efforts were wasted." Brianna scoffed. "So, that's why I haven't seen you around. You got kicked out by your sister, huh? Back to your dorm room?"

Drunk or not, Brianna's shoves were forceful, pushing Tiffany against the door.

"Brianna, have some decency," Tiffany snapped, pushing her away. She turned and stormed out of the building.
