Charlene stopped in her tracks, humming an absentminded acknowledgment. She turned around and asked, "Where are Minnie and the others?"

Thorne replied, "The rain's been relentless today. Half the streets outside are flooded. The manor's drainage system has always held up well, but if this keeps up, it might not last much longer. The housekeeper's already sent people to deal with it. Minnie's never seen folks piling up sandbags, or rain coming down this hard. She ran outside to see what all the fuss was about."

Charlene glanced out the window and finally realized just how much water had swallowed up the landscape outside.

Honestly, in all her years, she'd never seen Starfall hit by such a severe flood.

Frowning, she couldn't help but worry. "Where's Minnie now? With rain like this outside, you just let her—"
