“I’m not short of money,” Violet said in a good mood while driving the car, “I’m richer than most people in this world. Do you believe me?”

“I can see that,” Jack said softly. “Aren’t you tired of being so successful as a woman?”

“It feels really good to be powerful. How can I be tired?” She turned and glanced at him. “Like you. Are you tired?”

“Tired.” He revealed his true feelings without hesitation.

She was dumbfounded; she had thought that he would hide his exhaustion, even if he were tired.
