Catlin had been playedtricked into signing the severance papers, only for Stephanie to turn around and completely deny her promise about Dr. Vitale and Dr. Pierce,

“You… You’ve crossed the line!”

Catlin was so furious she couldn’t even catch her breath.

Her vision blurred, and just like that–she fainted.

Stephanie calmly picked up the phone and buzzed Jennifer. “Call an ambulance. Someone passed out.”

Jennifer’s voice shot up an octave. “Wait, what? Passed out? Here?”

Seriously? That Mrs. Hart looked perfectly healthy. Now she’s passing out in Stephanie’s office? This better not be some staged stunt to squeeze money out of her boss.

“I’m on it.”

If they wanted to pull something shady, Jennifer wasn’t having it.

She didn’t just call 911–she called three more times to speed things up. In less than fifteen minutes, the ambulance was there, hauling Catlin off with lights flashing.

Jennifer came back wiping sweat off her forehead.

“Boss, that woman’s either got a heart condition. Better stop seeing her, or you might scammed by them.”

Knowing the Hart family’s reputation, Jennifer wouldn’t put it past them to turn this into some cash grab.

Stephanie leaned back, bored. “Heart condition? Nah, I just pissed her off.”

“Huh?”

“I said, I made her so mad she passed out.”

Jennifer’s jaw dropped.

But then again, after everything the Harts had done to Stephanie, Jennifer couldn’t even pretend to feel bad. If anything, Catlin got off easy.

“Alright, enough gawking,” Stephanie said. “I need you to take care of something. Check your inbox.”

She slid a handwritten note across the desk, listing an address and a phone number–info Elliot had just dug up.

“Print this out and mail it there.”

Turns out, Tyler Hart had been surprisingly generous with his little side piece.

Maybe because she gave him a kid. Either way, the woman was living comfortably in a private gated community, chauffeured around like some minor celebrity.

Tyler had been spending plenty. Short of giving her the actual Mrs. Hart title, he’d pretty much given her everything else.

Jennifer took the papers. “On it.”
