Ethan leaned next to me. I was too tired to shuffle away from him. His body heat didn’t warm me up even half as much as Alexander’s. I shook my head to clear it. I needed to take a break from men.

A car horn beeped in the distance, and two kids rode bicycles past us. The world kept moving on around us, but it seemed like my ex–husband and I had traveled back to the past. This neighborhood was where we spent most of the time as a couple.
