Chapter 942 He Is Also a Liar

Linda never expected things to turn out this way. She knew everyone was secretly mocking her in their hearts!

She and Elisa were cousins, yet they could not be more different.

Although they grew up together and received the same education, Elisa turned out to be a genius, but Linda was unremarkable.

Linda was nearly driven mad with fury.

Norman took a deep breath to rein in his anger and force himself to smile. "Liz, you are brilliant, and I'm proud of you. However, don't you think you have hidden too much from us? None of us knew anything. I even had to hear all of your achievements from outsiders."

Although he said those words jokingly, they implied that Elisa did not regard Norman and Linda as family. In other words, what she did seemed inconsiderate.

Elisa answered evenly, "I didn't want to tell anyone to prevent people from attempting to harm me."

Everyone instantly related to her reason. A woman siding with James voiced her agreement with Elisa's choice. "You're right. Whether it is Iris, Black-Eyed Susan, or Rene Caovilla, they are all awe-inducing identities. If you had exposed yourself, someone might've decided to harm you. So the fewer people know, the better."

James nodded with a smile. "That's right. Mr. Benett, if you had known this earlier, you would have been proud of her and, subsequently, would've accidentally revealed her multiple identities by showing her off to others. It could have ended up making her a target of assassination. That would've been dangerous."

Before this, Norman's words made Elisa the target of criticism. However, James' words not only cleared Elisa of blame but struck back at Norman, implying that he should not have made a fuss about it.

That was enough to silence Norman.

Jessie adjusted her glasses and said calmly, "This matter has been decided then. Now, we only have to wait for Elisa to negotiate with Will."

There was nothing for them to do. It was similar to Elisa's collaboration with Gareth in the past. They only had to wait for the profit to roll in.

James sighed and sounded ashamed. "This is the second time Liz brought us immense profit. Previously, she had completed the collaboration with Wickam Group perfectly and didn't require us to do anything. Likewise, we don't have to do anything in this collaboration with Darcey Group and are guaranteed a handsome profit. Liz, thank you for this."

Jessie nodded and chimed in, "That's right. We don't deserve this profit. Since you negotiated it, you should have been the one keeping everything. With your abilities, you can do design work after working hours and not involve the company. However, you didn't and brought immense gain for everyone. We are indebted to you."
