"Come and have some food first."

Elisa was confused while Gareth explained, "It's not a good time to return yet. Let's eat first."

Elisa was hungry because she didn't have lunch, so she accepted Gareth's suggestion.

She did not mind having a meal with Gareth because the original plan was to head to Wickam Manor together at night. So, it was unnecessary to stay apart for half an hour now. It would be a waste of time if Elisa went home first. She would rather eat with Gareth and follow him to the manor to be time-efficient. In fact, Julia might be excited to see such news because she had been hoping for them to make up. It could brighten Julia's mood.
