Chapter 658 Jasmine Discovers the Computer is Hacked

Nolan was in the middle of a meeting at The Cunningham Group when his phone started buzzing like crazy with a bunch of text messages. The execs all turned to look at him, surprised.

Nolan set down the project materials he was holding and checked his phone. They were all transaction notifications.

Nolan raised his hand, clenched his fist, and coughed awkwardly. They were all Amelia's purchase records. She had bought a ton of gold jewelry and gold bars.

She was buying stuff that could be quickly sold off and held its value. Was Amelia planning to make a run for it?

Nolan squinted his eyes and put his phone down. She was getting smarter, but she shouldn't get too smart. Her intentions were way too obvious.

"Mr. Cunningham?" Elijah asked softly.

Nolan snapped back to reality and looked at the execs. "Continue."

Outside the pawnshop, Amelia hesitated for a long time, holding Nolan's card, before finally mustering the courage to walk in and redeem her necklace that Lucas had sold.

Using Nolan's money felt a bit wrong, but Nolan had been wrong first, so she didn't need to feel guilty. Gritting her teeth, Amelia nodded firmly. Yes, spent his money! Made him hate her even more so she could leave sooner. No time to waste.

"Ma'am, what can I help you with?" someone at the counter greeted her.

"This is the pawn ticket from before. My brother sold a necklace. Is it still here? I want to buy it back."

The clerk paused, took the ticket, and glanced at it. "Such valuable jewelry is kept in the vault. I need to check with our manager."

Amelia nodded and stood there nervously. She hoped no one had bought the necklace.

The clerk went to the office to check, and soon the manager came out with her. "That necklace has already been sold," the manager said apologetically. "Is there anything else you might like?"

In fact, for such valuable jewelry, they had regular customers; only a few people had the purchasing power for it. Soon, the manager came back, looking apologetically at Amelia.
