Chapter 671 White Lily

On West Avenue, a dump truck buried a private car in a traffic accident, and rescue workers were still attempting to save people.

Tom jumped out of his car and rushed over frantically, ignoring the crowd's attempted to stop him. He then began to dig through the rubble covering the buried vehicle.

"Connor, Connor, don't die, hang in there. You haven't paid me my salary yet!" Tom desperately dug through the rubble, his voice trembling.

The rescue workers nearby felt sorry for Tom seeing him like that. "My condolences."

"No, he won't be in trouble." Tom's eyes turned red, something that had never happened before.

He kept digging through the rubble, his nails breaking and leaving red marks of blood on the stones.

"Calm down. Calm down. No matter how deep your feelings are, your health is more important," a rescue worker said, seeing Tom losing control and quickly pulling him

away.

Tom struggled and cried out, "He can't die. He still owes me my salary!"

The rescue workers were stunned for a moment and looked at each other. "Owes you salary?"

"We've got him! Found him! He's still alive!" Over there, the rescue workers shouted excitedly, pulling a survivor out of the car.

Tom rushed over excitedly, fell to the ground and started to cry. "Connor, you can't die."

Seeing Tom crying so bitterly, a rescue worker asked quietly, "Is this puppy yours?" Tom was also stunned, looking at the 'survivor' the rescue workers had pulled out. "What dog?"

"A small car suddenly changed lanes. The dump truck couldn't stop and overturned, burying the car parked on the side of the road and hitting several other private cars. The seriously injured have already been sent to the hospital. Do you want to go to the hospital and check?" the rescue worker asked suspiciously. "We just contacted the owner of the buried car. He wasn't in the car. Only his dog was, and we're trying to rescue it."

Tom stood up straight. Had he cried for the wrong person?

Turning around, he saw Connor with blood on his forehead, holding his arm, and standing not far away with his broken phone, looking at him like he was an idiot.

Tom looked at Connor, and their eyes met, both feeling a bit awkward.

Just then, someone nearby set off fireworks. Tom scratched his head awkwardly. "It's New Year. Time to settle the salary."

Connor took off his broken glasses, feeling embarrassed by Tom, and walked straight to his car.

"Sir, we've taken care of everything," Connor's insurance agent said, handing over the paperwork.

Connor nodded, and after finishing up, he got into Tom's car without hesitation, frowning as he spoke, "What are you standing there for? Let's go. Are you waiting here to ask the puppy for your salary?"

Tom grumbled as he got into the car. "You weren't home. You didn't even put your slippers away. What were you running for?"

Connor didn't respond.
