Alden’s blood ran cold- what the hell is she doing here?

Kaia stumbled out of the taxi, clutching her throbbing shoulder. The pain was intense, radiating through her entire arm as if the bone had shattered.

Her eyes fell on a couple huddled together a few yards away, and her heart froze in her chest.
